CoMotion 2023

CoMotion is an annual motion graphics symposium founded in 2010 and hosted at the Savannah College of Art and Design. As the longest-running and largest student-led event of its kind, it serves as a professional platform connecting emerging designers with leading studios and industry practitioners.

Through curated portfolio reviews, keynote lectures, and panel discussions, CoMotion facilitates direct dialogue between students and professionals, fostering critical feedback, industry insight, and meaningful networking opportunities. A central component of the event is the Student Showcase, where selected works are presented for formal evaluation and professional recognition.

CoMotion operates as a strategic interface between academia and industry, supporting the professional development of the next generation of motion designers.

Responsibilities

As a designer, I was responsible for the strategic development and expansion of the visual system. Centered around the creation of key styleframes, I established the core visual language and narrative structure while developing a scalable element system for sustained application. Through the systematic integration of key visual components and modular structures, I ensured consistency, adaptability, and strong brand recognition across motion content and multi-platform communications.

Visual Development

From prehistoric cave paintings illuminated by firelight to the invention of the camera and the glow of digital screens, light has remained inseparable from artistic expression. It reveals, guides, and gives form to narrative.

For CoMotion 2023, light becomes both subject and metaphor. As motion design steps into the spotlight, the project celebrates the diversity of voices and visual storytellers who seek, shape, and pursue light—each contributing to the evolving language of motion.
